HVX200 has DV?

Question

I know that there is a big hype about the NEW P2 media for the HVX200. P2 media however is really expensive. I can find any pictures of the hvx200 from the "other side" so I dont know it it can use DV tapes.

If anyone knows or could find out please answer here :)

Yes, it can use MiniDV, or P2.  It only shoots SD on MiniDV though.  You can't shoot HDV on tape with this camera.

On MiniDV, you can select a few different shooting formats, including formats for a progressive look.

But I can confirm that it DOES indeed use MiniDV tape, so it's a good way to transition from SD to HD at your own pace.  You can start on SD with MiniDV, and then when you're ready to go to HD, you can spring for P2 cards (or perhaps the Firestore FS-100 via Firewire).  It's a great little machine.
