i do not understand, i saw a video about a hydrogen ca rthat runs on water, so i presure the cell in the car uses electrolsys to split the water into hyrdogen atoms for energy BUT

how does the car use hydrogen as energy and also what is powering the mechanism for electrolosys

?????????????

  1. The problem with theses schemes is that it takes energy to split a water molecule. You will be lucky to get back 40% of that when you burn the resulting hydrogen, so on-board electrolysis is a losing proposition. If it really worked as claimed it would be playing bigger venues than YouTube.

  2. in simple terms. by using a pair of electrodes and your cars electrical power ( alternator output) to induse electrolysis. the electrolysis splits h2o into h2 and O. separated the 2 molecules are ingested into the engine. Hydrogen is flammable and all fuels need oxygen and heat (spark) to burn. the 2 molecules burn and produce an explosion in your cars engine producing heat and water. thus propelling you forward.

  3. A battery would be one way to provide electrolysis to split the hydrogen from the oxygen, then by recombining in a combustion process, you would get emission-free power

  4. It splits the water into oxygen and the oxygen is what is being used to power the car - not the hydrogen.
