Habib Bank clinches Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2010-11 Division One Title

This final would be remembered for a long time for various reasons. It was first time in the history of Pakistan’s first-class cricket that a match was played under flood-lights. Apart from that it was a keenly contested encounter, but some poor decisions
by the umpires led some of the players to misbehave, including PIA captain Kamran Sajid.
Habib Bank won the toss and elected to bat first on a track that promised a lot of help to the seamers on day one. A captain’s knock by left-hander Kamran Sajid, led PIA to post a fighting total of 228 runs on the board. Kamran Sajid scored a magnificent
90 runs under trying circumstances and look comfortable throughout his innings. He consumed 222 balls in his knock and struck 13 beautiful boundaries.
Former Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik was the only other batsman to have shown some resistance against Habib Bank’s bowlers, as he scored a quick 39 off just 53 balls, which included six fours and a huge six. Leg-spinner http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Danish-Kaneria-c1314 picked up four crucial
wickets for Habib Bank whereas Fahad Masood, Sarmad Anwar and Kamran Hussain took two wickets each.
In reply, Habib Bank was able to take a first innings lead because of a stunning hundred by Test opener Imran Farhat. Habib Bank scored 313 runs in their first innings to take a lead of 85 runs over PIA. Imran Farhat scored 109 runs off 172 balls with the
help of 16 boundaries.

balls, which included seven fours and a huge six.

Kamran Sajid picked up a couple of wickets for PIA in the losing cause, and once again proved that he has immense all-round abilities. Aftab Alam was named the Player of the Match for his match-winning innings.
