Hackamore Bozo?

Can anyone give me more information on the Bozo Hackamore or the Stiver Hackamore?

  1. Sounds like you want to know what a bosal (Pronounced Bo-sal) for a hackamore is.  A bosal is the braided nose piece that attaches to the headstall and mecate of a REAL HACKAMORE.  It applies pressure to the bridge of a horse's nose and the sides of the bosal, are used to make contact with the bars of the horse's mouth.

    The Stiver Hackamore is actually a different version of the "Mechanical Hackamore".  The Stiver Hackamore looks like it would stop ANYTHING!  Ouch!  One of their versions looks like the old 3-Way bits I'd seen as a kid except with the chain mouthpiece it is really harsh on a horse's mouth.
