OK. Here are my questions.

a. What do the terms hacking, cracking and tracking mean?

b. Are they similar terms? Are there any other words similar to them?

c. Are they legal in the society?

  1. Hacking is the term used to describe breaking into a system and obtaining information or planting information. Its more about the gaining of knowledge or funds. There are three main terms associated with hacking. White, Grey, and Black hatters. Black hats perform overtly criminal hacks, whereas white hats perform ethically positive hacks, and grey hatters are a bit ethically ambiguous.

    Cracking is more commonly used in term of software. i.e. removing programmed restrictions. Like figuring a way to make a program do something it wasnt intended to. Overriding anti copyright programing is a form of cracking. Its more to do with breaking through the security systems.
