My personal thoughts are he has probably felt for a while that he could defeat Cotto, but the thought of getting in the ring with Margarito has always been something he will avoid.

  1. I think Mayweather would still be enjoying his retirement

  2. h**l no. Hes been running from him for over a year now.  I think now that he has lost he may consider fighting him.

  3. I don't think Mayweather would have came out that soon. Assuming Mayweather does come back, I think he is still waiting to see what goes on with Oscar De La Hoya's situation. Since he knows Oscar is fighting one last time, a fight with him is definitely out, so Mayweather maybe wanting to see if someone like Cotto, Margarito or even Pacquiao could beat the "Golden Boy", which woud make for a more intriguing matchup and hopefully big money fight.

That's just my thought on the matter.

  4. I don't think so.

Many people believe that there is an issue of fear that Mayweather has regarding facing fighters like Cotto and Margarito.  This is so absurb.  Their personal dislike of Floyd Mayweather is clouding reasonable judgment.

No man or woman can enter a boxing ring as many times as Floyd Mayweather has against such high caliber opposition and have issues of fear.  It makes about as much sense as your friends telling you as a teenager that you are afraid of your little brother.  He may be getting growing stronger and taller but he is still your kid brother.  You choose not to fight him for other reasons and aren't motivated by the chidings of your "friends."  Mayweather's issue has been with the promoters of Margarito and Cotto, not the fighters.  So regardless of how many "fans" state that he is scared, he chooses to not be goaded into taking what the Bob Arum's of the boxing world dictate to him, just as you would not be goaded into fighting your kid brother.  See the analogy?

If Margarito and Cotto really want the fight with Mayweather, they should go independent or sign with Golden Boy and watch it develop.  Until then, the true losers are both of them because Floyd doesn't have anything to prove to either of these lesser skilled fighters or to "fans" that really just want to see somebody (anybody) hurt him.

For the record, I think PBF stops both fighters.  Cotto in 10 or 11, Margarito in about 6 (he is too easy to hit hard).

  5. no, Mayweather is scared of fighting Margarito or Cotto,

Margarito already challenged him once but he said no.

  6. I think he'll be more likely to fight him now that he was beaten up so physically last night. He might view him as "easy pickings".

    I think he'd be wrong....so I hope he tries. :)

  7. Mayweather is garbage ill give him credit for being a great boxer but he has no heart. Just look at his retirement nobody cared when he retired because the man stole money from everybody that ever bought one of his PPV fights. Fighters like Mayweather are what contributed to boxings decline because they just danced around the ring. Mayweather will never fight Margarito even though he would probably beat him because he would land a few jabs each round and dance away from Margarito and win on decision. I would love to see Margarito destroy Mayweather but itll never happen because Mayweather is scared. I think Cotto would beat Mayweather easily because of the fact that Cotto and Mayweather are similar in size. Cotto could match Mayweathers skill and he has more power. I would love to see Cotto V Mayweather but once again it wont happen. Lets not forget Cotto had a good fight last night he was actually the better fighter for most of the fight he just ran into a machine last night.
