Ok, so last night I had a dream that a guy I know was chasing me with a needle, then finally I turned around and broke the needle in his hand. He laughed and said it was just a joke.

I looked up what it means to break a needle in dreams and a website said : it signifies loneliness and poverty.

I don't know if dreams really predict the future or have control over your everyday life, but still it makes me nervous and sad. Should I be worried?

  1. No worries!

This dream simply means someone has been "needling" you.... teasing you, getting on your nerves.  Think... who is that person?  Have you asked them to stop?  Either ask them to stop, or just remind yourself it's not important, and it might stop annoying you so much.

  2. Hm, well, I don't know where you got that definition from, but when you read a dream definition on a website or in a book, that is just one person's opinion about what a symbol means, opinions are like belly buttons, everybody's got one.  So here's another one for you.... Looking over this imagery, the guy you know is basically chasing you around with a pointed object.  It offers the impression that he recently made a sharp, pointed comment to you of some kind, something critical or hurtful.  You knew the comment was unjustified, and broke the needle, which reads as though you stood up for yourself in the situation.  So he backed down and laughed and said he was just joking in your dream, and that offers the impression that you called him on it, whatever it was, and he back peddled on it....so does that make any more sense to you than the dream book definition?  Historically speaking, pins and needles were once very valuable, back in the middle ages if someone dreamed of breaking a needle, then that might have symbolized things like poverty to the average person, back in those days pins were very costly, and to the average person the loss of a pin or needle was a great loss indeed. That sort of definition may have been passed down as a traditional definition for breaking a needle, but it sounds a bit out of date now.....  Good luck....

  3. I think it means... that you will think that marrying this man will make you happy but in the end, it will create an unavoidable loss, that he cannot recuperate from hence the "it's just a joke." I'd stay away from him,  it doesn't seem like he can provide you with a life that your ready to deal with.
