I had a left upper back tooth removed yesterday because it was infected and now it still bleeding a bit and have a bad pain in my ear, cheek bones and eye. Early hours this morning I went to the emergency doc and was given antibiotics and some strong pain killers, I was wondering how long will it take for the swelling to go down and for the pain to be gone and the infection? Help!!

  1. ok now the antibiotics are in you system it should start to take effect, you should notice a change prob by tomorow.

Please rember just because you feel better dont not stop taking the antibiotics till you course is over or the infection may come back of spread

if you feel it is geting worse or notice any discharge where you had the abstaction go back to doc or dentice otherwise keep taking your meds the pain killers should take the edge off and also try washing you mouth out with salt water that should help you feel better very soon!

  2. Go get it checked out properly, a good way to numb the pain is whole cloves put three or four into a bit gause and put it up beside the gum,but as I siad go get it checked out coz that doesnt sound right.

  3. If the anti-biotics are effective then you should see a difference in a couple of days, but always remember to follow the instruction and complete the course.

In the meantime keep taking the pain killers and enjoy a couple of days in bed till you recover.

Best of luck, and if symptoms get worse go to your nearest A&E.

  4. Honey, I don't think that many people can help you there. Just take the medicine and you can watch it go down in good time.

  5. it will hurt but that's only because your teeth head ear etc are all connected. That's normally why you find that if you have a tooth ache u'll get a head ache too or ear ache etc. I've had teeth taken out before so i know how much it hurts. But it want get infected or anything like that. You just have to give it time and then the pain will go away!

  6. oki to help the tooth infection get some corsodyl.. and to stop the pain get some anbesol, its like strong bonjela and its a gel that u put on and its basically a more direct painkiller. use corsodyl everytime u brush ur teeth (if u dare brush them and can take the pain and blood). but try hard not to use too much cotton wool etc. to stop the bleeding because it can make it worse.

pain to be gone: depends on how well your recovering and what medication you're on, the swelling: again, depends just on how well you are looking after yourself.

the infection could take some time, but as horrible as it may be you just gotta hold in there and if you get really frustrated try not to take it out on other people cz they really won't understand the pain

  7. ouch! sounds like u hurt a lot!

  8. thats bad... only a doctor can help you. From what I know, there's a nerve that connects your tooth to your eyes... it might affect you vision if not properly taken out...

Your pains are definitely linked to that tooth taken out!

  9. it couldve been an absest... they are really serious...  you should be ok in a few days

  10. if it is really infected, i can't tell.

but generally the day after the removal hurts worst, and is the worst swelling.  Probably no one will  notice any swelling by the third day.

  11. Hi

Keep taking the pain killers as prescribed for a week. The infection should have gone by then so stop them then and see if the pain comes back. You MUST finish the course of antibiotics though.

Email if you need more information

    Regards

  12. that shouldnt have happened.

the Dentist should of saw the tooth if it had an infection or not ,.. cause then they would give you antibiotics before the work......

i got my last last tooth way in the back out 2 yrs ago, everything went fine,.... no pain, no blood,.. just fine the next day,....

i think they hit a nerve or did something wrong!

    good luck

  13. again goto dental doctor
