Had cramping, but no period?

Okay I'm sure this question gets asked a lot. So sorry. But I was due for my period on August 30th. I had cramping yesterday (fairly bad) afternoon, and by the late evening all my cramping was gone. I figured that I would just wake up with dear 'ol Aunt Flo in the morning, but nothing. No cramping, no bloating, nothing. The only different thing was last night I had a crazy headache. My husband and I use condoms (we already have one little boy) but I guess they aren't the best.

Oh, and I took a pregnancy test already, about 2 days ago and it was negative. So, even with one negative test, is it still possible to be pregnant? Would you just wait it out and see if maybe your period is just going to be weird this month, or what? I just need advice. Thanks.

  1. I would just wait it out.  Sometimes even Mother Nature's clock is a little behind.  Since you've taken a pregnancy test and it was negative, try to relax and not stress about it.

    Good luck!

  2. Wait a week or so, but don't drink any alcohol in the meantime. Periods are strange things. You can have symptoms of PMS but not get your period for days, or you can start your cycle with no symptoms of PMS at all.

  3. I would say you are not pregnant if you got a negative...youre period is only a few days late i would wait it out,.

  4. If I were in your situation I would just wait it out and see what happens. But make sure you don't stress yourself out over it because that will also make your period irregular.

  5. Many things can cause your period to be late or missed (besides pregnancy), such as stress, change in diet or exercise, illness, etc.  You can also get cramps when you are ovulating.  I do all the time:(  My period is never on time, or comes when I expect it.  I took a total of 17 pregnancy tests before I knew for sure that I was pregnant. (DEFINITELY OCD!!!)  I had already missed two periods though.  I ended up missing one month b/c of stress, and the next month b/c I was pregnant.  I was only 3 weeks pregnant when I had my blood sample taken at the dr.'s office.  (usually you don't find out until close to 2mo. prego)  As for the headaches, every now and then I get them when I'm about to start.  I've been told it can be related to low iron.  I would try waiting a few more days.  Please don't waste money on a million pregnancy tests like I did!!!  Go to your dr. and have the blood test.  Hope everything works out for you!
