Hades gets his Glory in A11 victory at Hove
On the greyhound racing circuit, the dogs, their trainers, and the loyal racing fans all share one thing in common – the quest for glory. The dogs have been known to produce glorious results,
which, in turn is equally glorious for their trainers and the fans that bet on them.
The early afternoon 515m races at Coral Brighton and Hove Greyhound Stadium Wednesday featured some glorious results. Hades Glory was responsible for one of them. The 7-4 favourite was
the star of the A11 race, finishing in top form with a 30.93 second finish to lay claim on the victory. He held an early pace from trap one, and led first to pick up the win.
Trap five was home to Runway Three (6-1), who finished in second place. He checked in with a time of 31.27, which put him 4¼ lengths out of first place. Clairkeith Megan (3-1) crowded
first, but placed third in 31.31. She was only a ½ length out of second place.
An early pace from trap three was not enough for Ashville Nikki (5-1), who ran to a fourth-place finish in 31.37. Only ¾ lengths separated her from the number three spot. Fast Betty (3-1)
also finished ¾ lengths behind, but her 31.43 finish wasn’t fast enough for a win today. Sixth place went to Disguised Choice (8-1), who crowded first and finished the raced in 31.45. A neck’s length was the difference between fifth and sixth place.
Reenard Eric was selected as the 5-4 favourite to win the A10 race, and win it he did. Despite crowing first and baulking third, he ran on to finish strong with a time of 31.26. Spinning
out a second-place finish was Spin Cotton (4-1), who was 1½ lengths behind Reenard Eric in 31.38. Guinness Patch (5-1) took third place in 31.42, which was just a head behind the second-place finisher.
The fourth and fifth positions in this race belonged to a couple of 10-1 long shots. Mythical Queen claimed fourth place by a head in 31.43, while Swift Titus crowded fourth en route to
a 31.44 finish. He too was a head’s length out of the next highest position.
Soldier Cian (4-1) was looking good when he emerged from trap three, as he held an early pace and led to second. However, he crowded at third and lost some power, which resulted in a last-place
finish. He completed the race in 31.50, which was ¾ lengths behind Swift Titus.
Will Hades Glory be able to continue his glorious run at Coral Brighton and Hove Greyhound Stadium? Find out tomorrow evening, when the track presents a 12-race card. The first race is
scheduled to begin at 19:30.
