Hadron Collider Experiment ?

When they collide these protons, what’s the possibility of scientists opening a dimensional gate for tiny aliens too go shooting through and infecting our brains? Also what if scientists get welded to all their equipment after having briefly visited 1945?

  1. I’ve also read conspiracy stuff about some other objective, namely secretly opening some kinda stargate. But that’s all they are, conspiracies I think.

  2. The probability is very low. Just the probability, that all we know in science is wrong.

I would not bet your money on this happening.

The probability is even so low, that you can say that it is as impossible as things can get.

And anonymous work colleague's sons are no scientific source.

  3. AHEM.. first of all LOL

Secondly, I assume your joking. While the scientists building and studying the LHC are all convinced its safe, I kind of get the feel that there not 100% sure on whats going to happen. Im not too concerned about aliens and the like, but I think we might get some amazing results out of this technology.

  4. Just think of all the trash that could be dealt with, nuclear wast, zip into the black hole, zip it is gone, that one old shue, that rotten drywall, egshells, your pictures

  5. That is the stuff of science fiction.  You'd better get writing fast.  The time for speculation is growing short.  Only eight more days until the end of the world.  After that, it will be old news.

Since we are all already doomed, we may as well watch the show.

  6. Strange how the only people who are scared of the LHC are those with no real idea what it is designed to do, or how!  Odd, also, how many totally uninformed people are determined to have their two cents worth and condemn the world to die.  Surely not to gain notoriety (and book sales) for themselves?  As an astronomer and cosmologist, I am very excited at the prospect of learning more about the Universe, and not scared in the least!  However, I have to say your premise is a fascinating idea for a story, though I am afraid, a bit too much like Alice Through The Looking Glass for my taste!

  7. Whatever is created in the collider will only exist for a fraction of a second and will perish in a flash of gamma radiation due to Hawking Radiation.

    Safe, brother.

  8. OK that isn't going to happen. I think that your work colleague is pulling you leg. Trust me I'm a scientist.

  9. Probably about the same chance as the Hadron Collider spontaneously turning into a pineapple. (Quantum, it's possible). To be serious though, there is a far far greater chance of an asteroid colliding with earth, so I'd worry more about that...
