Hafeez and Tsotsobe swapped places on the rankings table after last week’s NatWest series opener between http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 and South Africa, at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff, was abandoned due to rain.
The South African left-arm medium pacer returned with figures of 2.3-0-18-0 in the washed out game, and now trails the Pakistan all-rounder by just two rating points. The duo will, however, be afforded a fair opportunity to retain or reclaim the top spot
in the next couple of weeks.
Hafeez, Pakistan’s ODI vice-captain, will be playing in a three-match ODI series against Australia, commencing at Sharjah, UAE, today, August 28, 2012, while Tsotsobe remains part of the Proteas’ squad which will resume duties in the series against England,
also from August 28.
The 31-year-old Pakistan opener, who also bowls right-arm off-spin, is one of the most experienced players in the squad for the Australia series. He is also the highest ranked Pakistani all-rounder. He is at No. 3 on the all-rounders’ list, just ahead of
