what is the story of these two and how is it significant?

Ismail is the islamic version of jacob, both of them are the sons of Ibraham, Jacob's mother is Sarah while Ismail mother is Hagar (the egyptian maid) the jews claim that Ibraham dreamt of slaying Jacob while the muslims say it was Ismail whom Ibraham dreamt with. the merit of the story is that Ibraham accepted his god order even if the orders was to slay his own son, anyway no slaying took place as god ordered Ibraham to slay a sheep instead, thats why muslims slay sheeps nowadays during their piligrimage to mecca.

Hagar was an ancient Hittite leader who had successfully staunched the Roman Invasion in 825 B.C., and again in 827 B.C.  But his lead general, Ismail, betrayed Hagar and used the army he was commanding to sack Gilgamesh, the capital of ancient Hittacia.  After that, the Roman army was able to quickly subdue the entire ancient Hittite Empire and colonized the area that is now known as Sicily.  Hagar and Ismail were eventually held in a prison together for twenty-five years, in a turn of events that was as ironic as it was stoic.  They were eventually freed by the Emperor Augustus as a show of respect for the growing Coptic Christian community.
