Haggle so I can get a 2-year plan when I'm not eligible for 8 months?

So I accidentally left my phone in my pocket when I washed my clothes and it's broken. I have 8 months left on my verizon plan.

I talked to my dad and he's convinced that he can 'haggle' with the people and get me a 2-year deal when I'm not eligible for a 2-year plan for eight more months.

Is it even possible for him to haggle about that?

The folks at the stores are limited as to what they can do based on the computer record for your account.  The computer simply won't allow them to give you a phone or sell you one at the two year price.  Hard to haggle with machinery.  

At this stage you might be best to buy a phone off ebay or use an older one your family has lying around.
