i decided i want a chinchilla and i was wondering how much they cost at like a pet store? and a cage? and food and everything?

dont get a chinchilla, they are hard work, they are living breathing creatures, do lots of research, and then if you are still intrested in a few months, check petfinder

Chinchillas will usually cost about $150 at a pet store. Though I highly suggest you don't get one from a pet store. You have no idea of it's genetics or age, which can be critical things to know. If you're going to get one or two, look into adopting. There are so many unwanted chinchillas out there who need homes. Try looking here first.

Chinchillas need large and spacious cages. This can cost you anywhere from $150 to $500. Good quality chinchilla food will cost you about $8 a bag. I buy my litter in bulk, and it's usually about $15. Chew blocks are $4 or $5. Timothy hay I also buy in bulk, which is $15.

And if you get a chinchilla, don't just get one. Chinchillas are very social animals and live in groups of up to 50 in the wild. They get lonely very easily, which can be hard on them.
