Before you spend your money, Google "video  editing  freeware".  Depending on what you intend to do, there's a load of good stuff around that won't cost you anything.

Well frankly their is a large variety of software that you can choose from such adobe premier elements (3,4) or if you wan to go in a more performance editing tool based editing you would go with CS3.

Their are many different software that you can chose from (but the thing is they varied between prices)
