Hailsham Hawk comes first in Hove Standard (Duplicated) at Hove
Hailsham Hawk grabbed the top position in the Grade OR Hove Standard (Duplicated) at about 515m on January 12 at Hove.
The black b***h fought against Keady Honcho, Sable Blitz, Crash Bandit, Droopys Linford and Coolavanny Rock, with Crash Bandit being the most favourite hound at a starting price of 6 to 4.
Hailsham Hawk broke from trap 6, and in the beginning, the b***h was a bit slow, but she led in the middle and ran on with a consistent pace till the finish line, in 30.14 seconds.
D D Knight's trainee impressed the bookies by winning in a fabulous manner. Before the start of the race, nobody could expect such an amazing performance from her.
The daughter of Droopys Charlize, accomplished this position for the 17th time since her debut in May 2010.
The overall winning ratio of the veteran racer has been excellent. The trainer seemed to be quite satisfied with what his trainee had achieved so far, wishing her further victories.
The dazzling b***h was born in September, 2008.
Keady Honcho notched up the second position in the race with a margin of 1 ¾ lengths.
The black and white dog got crowded in the beginning, but kept on running with a clean pace later on. Breaking from trap 2, he challenged Hailsham Hawk on some occasions, and bridged the distance in 30.28 seconds.
The son of Top Honcho ended up with this spot for the 8th time in his career which began on April 15, 2010. Whelped in April 2008, the dog is trained by K J Tester.
The third runner to finish the race was Sable Blitz, who struggled hard to outstrip Keady Honcho, but failed.
Breaking from trap 5, the black dog was speedy in the start and led all, but was not be able to perpetuate his form, as he slowed down in the middle.
However, he did not leave the front runner unchallenged.
The son of Droopys Maldini crossed the boundary line in 30.33 seconds, with a slight gap of ½ a length. Whelped in August 2009, the dog gets training from A J Ingram.
At the end of the event, the winner earned £150, while each of the other racers walked away with £25.
