Hailsham Hawk upsets Keady Honcho – Greyhound Racing Update
It was an unexpected win for, Hailsham Hawk, as the b***h secured the first position in a 515 meter long Grade A1 race at Hove, on January 5, 2012.
The daughter of Westmead Hawk, out of Droopys Charlize, surprised the audience by beating three major competitors, Keady Honcho, Don Henry and Droopys Ulick.
She was sent off with 8/1 odds, and broke from trap number 5.
However, soon after the opening, the b***h took a handsome lead and maintained it till the end.
Chasing the Lure, she covered the distance in just 29.93 seconds, winning the cash prize of £124.
The second position went to Droopys Ulick – with the starting price of 4 to 1.

He broke out of trap number two, and crossed the final line in 30.00 seconds flat. Although he gave a tough time to the victorious b***h, Hailsham Hawk, she provided him no opportunity to touch the wire before her.
Don Henry also did a fine job, as he sealed the third position by covering the preset distance in 30.09 seconds. His starting price was 4 to 1, and he broke from trap number four before the affair began.
While the fans of the top 3 finishers were jubilant, K J Tester was visibly disappointed over the performance of his greyhound, Keady Honcho.
Ahead of the race, the son of Top Honcho out of Quadrigo, was the favourite dog with a starting price of 1 to 1.

However, it was certainly not his day at the track, as he was defeated by the greyhounds with far unfavouring odds.
After coming out of trap number one, the high profile dog finished the race in 30.17, 0.20 seconds behind the winning b***h.
Big Black Hawk, managed to ensure the second last spot by concluding the sprint in 30.26 seconds, sent with 5 to 1 odds.
As expected, Guinness Style finished last, after covering the distance in 30.51 seconds.
The highlight of the thrilling race was a great show displayed by Hailsham Hawk, a b***h who will definitely fancy her chances of participating in the Grade Open Races, giving more good performances at this level.
