Hair Color Question!!!!?

i have light brown hair with reddish tones.. i would love for my hair to be dirty blond or at least with really blond highlights.. any tips to tell the professionals? or any tips on at-home hair-color? i don't want to end up with orange hair, people!!!

KEEP emphasizing to the hair dresser to not use colors with RED tones in it.  Some brands have red in almost every color, so keep telling her you don't like that.

Second main thing ti keep in mind is this:  For what you are trying to do, it would be best to take a couple months to get there.  First go a bit lighter (either overall, or with highlights, or both).  then a bit lighter (maybe with just more highlights).  then lighter and lighter everytime, until you get to your perfect hair color.

TRUST ME, if you go all of a sudden, EVEN if it is the perfect shade... you WILL hate it and you WILL look weird to others at first. So take your time getting there and enjoy the differnet shade until you do =)
