Hair Straightening Iron on straight hair?

I have straight hair but it is very thick. Would using a straightening iron help make it appear any thinner? Do they do any good on already straight hair?

  1. ya well you have to straighten it with a straightening iron if you  want your wavy hair straight. how else is is going to get straight?
