Question:

Hair Style Help Needed?

I have thick, curly, coarse hair. I try to come up with different styles to fix my hair, but I feel like it is limited. I usually where my hair up in a bun, or down, since it is curly. The speed bump doesn't look good on my head, and neither do corn rows. I usually part my hair, but I want to change it up. Straightening is an option, but then again, it damages the hair (no matter what iron is used) and also, styling my hair afterwards is difficult because curls won't stay in long, and hair begins to frizz...what a disaster aye?

SO can someone please help me think of hair styles possible for my hair type. Also, does anyone know what technique I can use for curling my hair? I have curly hair already, but sometimes I'd like to do nice barrell curls, except, I don't know how it's possible to do them right! Help por favor

  1. i have the exact same hair as you!! i straighten my hair everyday and i'm thinking of getting it chemically straightened, but that can damage your hair a lot if it isn't done properly. Although all irons will damage your hair, you can get some that are better then others and give your hair vitamins. Any type of heat on your hair damages it but there are heat serums that can restore your hair as well. For me, i find that if i don't towel dry my hair (just put it up in the towel, if that makes sense) and then sleep on it, i get really nice curls in the morning and my usual frizz is gone. A lot of people say that this is really bad for your hair, but i get results that are extremely difficult to get in not doing so. Also mousse and hairspray helps heaps for me, it keeps the frizz down, maybe try that. you can also get hair products suitable for your hair type. i got mine from my hair salon and it calms down my frizzy hair and gives a shine to my curls. Also, having longer hair will help because the weight from your hair will pull down, instead af going out to the sides, which is when and why hair can get frizzy. hope that helps =)

  2. Okay, if you already have straightners you can curl hair with them, like this! : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QHacRK-JY...

I do it and it comes out gorgeous, but as you said if you dont want to damage then buy some hair rollers? And use them after you wash your hair for best results.

    Good luck!
