Hair ideas for brunette?

Question

I currently have medium brown hair. Tomorrow I have a hair appointment for a one-step color and partial highlight.

I was planning on dyeing it a darker brown and then getting blonde highlights? But I don't know what sort of highlights, i.e. streaky, chunky, allover...

Any ideas? Pictures would be appreciated

I would say all over highlights :) I think it'll look good!
