Question:

Hair on nose after chemotherapy?

I know we all have vellus hair on our noses, and it is not noticeable except if you are examining the skin very closely, but i have noticed that ever since i stopped chemotherapy (this past March), i have an increased amount of hair on my nose, and it is coming out thick and dark (I am dark skinned). Yes, this is hair ON my nose, NOT the hair INSIDE my nose.

I know that I was given large doses of dexamethasone (decadron), but I am now off of that drug.

Is this temporary or will I have to live with this?

  1. It's a hormone thing. The steroids could well be the "Smoking gun".

Ask to have an endocrine work up.
