Question:

Hair straightener help! I've tried Solia and I hate it. What's next? Sedu? Chi? Babyliss??

I have shoulder-length, THICK, CURLY hair. I read a thousand reviews before I bought my Solia and I thought I would get something I'd completely love. Wrong. I don't even really like it. I mean, it works almost as well as every other (cheapo) flat iron that I've ever owned minus the burnt stench. It still takes me a long time to straighten my hair and I have to go over and over the same piece just to get it sort of straight. I want something that will help me cut down on the time I have to spend doing my hair!

I was recommended the Chi Turbo, but a bunch of the reviews I've read make it seem like the Chi Turbo isn't the well made and will at most last 10-12 months. If I'm dropping that much cash I kinda want something that will last longer than that. Although I do have a friend that had a Chi for a few years and she loved it although now the thing doesn't even power on.

Anyway, I have no experience with these things. Maybe if there are some stylists who have used different products on thick, curly hair they have a preference or at least some idea of what works in what situation.

Thank you for you input!
