Hair turning to a different color?

Question

ok so um.. i have naturally dark black hair. i have never dyed it, highlighted it, nothing. and i have noticed since i was little that the bottom part of my hair has been turning brown... is this because of the sun?

any suggestions or theories, or explanations would be great! thanks!

i would say this is through sun exposure over the years and just a natural process of getting older.

My own hair has gone through changes mainly due to sun. Especially when i was younger in summer it would lighten making it very blonde and in winter be a darker shade. Now that i'm older it is much darker throughout.
