Question:

Haircuts for curly-haired FTM transguys?

So I'm pre-everything 14 year old female-to-male transguy. My current haircut is kinda shortish (not quite to my shoulders) though I'd like it a bit shorter. My haircut when I first got it looked good for a while but now it just looks... i dunno, poofy. I'm lazy so I don't want anything high-maintenance but if I have to use some sort of inexpensive gel thing that's okay I guess but I prefer just kind of brushing it and going, you know? So yeah since I have feminine features since biologically I AM female, I need a haircut that makes me look masculine, and good. I don't like extremely short hair either like buzz cuts or anything, though.

Suggestions are great, also if you could finds some pics that'd be good too. :) Thanks!

  1. I notice that you have a manga type profile pic, perhaps you will find inspiration looking at japanese hairstyles.  I find it hard to resist doing that sort of thing with my sons hair, he is 10 and is often mistaken for a girl because he is pretty.  To be honests he likes the attention.

I think straighteners are a must if you have curly hair. plenty of boys and men use them too.  I've nothing against surly hair but it opens up your options a bit.

I also recomend you go to the barbers not a unisex or womans hairdressers.  If I take my boy anywhere other than the barbers he looks more feminine.

I can't find any pictures because it all depends on your own personal taste and I'm not young any more, LOL.

  2. I saw an 11 year old ftm on Tyra.  This kid had real short hair and he took (she) took pills to stop b*****s from growing, to stop the mentrual cycle.

1- are ur parents cool w/this?

2- http://www.muchmusic.com/tv/personalitie...  This looks hot. I luv hair like this.  Now, his face is long, is yours? Is urs round or square or hart?

Razor cuts r always good, like near ur ear.

    I luv scene

Good luck on ur transition. You're lucky to start young.

  3. I saw some kid about 12-15ish at a movie theatre with a shirt that had modified Subaru's and dragons on it.  I think that's somthing only a guy would wear.  You might want to look into that.

However mens haircuts are more femine then I have ever seen (beyond the powdered curled wigs days) so if you're going for current styles then you might not find what you are wanting.

However if you went to the average $15 for a cut and style hairdresser and asked for a stylized military haircut or just what guys your age are getting then you'd be best off.
