Hairy Legs + And My Daughter?

My daughter is 10 years old and going into grade 5. She claims that everyone else shaves there legs already. She has been begging me for months to start but i always say NO! But she thinks she has the most hairy legs in the world! Should i let her ? And when did ur daughter start ?

I was exactly your daughter at 10. My mom said no and my sister called me beast because my legs were so hairy!

Let her shave, but tell her it will be her responsibility.

By the way Nair doesn't work, it smells and stings.

My mother let me shave my legs at a young age.  I used electric though so my legs wouldn't get cut up.  There is no harm in that.  Definitely NO RAZOR!!!!

You should let her. Kids will tease her if you dont let her. if you dont want her to use a razor then use nair or something. let her or else she will get teased.. i started when i wuz 9 or 10 i think it wuz 10,,,,

NO do not let her. Once she starts that's her for her whole life shaving them at least once a week... Wait until she is about 14...

i'm 15 now. i started shaving when i was in the 3rd grade. i probably really didn't need to start shaving that young but i did anyway. and believe it or not,my sister started shaving when she was in either kindergarden or 1st grade!!!

so yeah i think u should let ur daughter start shaving now. she old enough!!

Well only if her legs really are hairy. But explain to her that once she starts shaving, it's an endless torture. Hairs will just be popping out all the time, and in the end she'll have to shave every day! Which is so not cool. I think she just has a little case of peer pressure.

I started in fifth grade, and I think I did bcuz everyone else did to. my mom didnt want me to but I think she let me if I remember right. so yaa.

YES! Let her! She will get teased if you don't. Anyway, it's not even true that your hair grows back thicker after you start shaving it. Hormone changes make it start getting thicker and darker and since most girl start shaving around puberty, it seems that the shaving is what is making it darker, which is not the case.

ok well im only 15 so im not a mother and dont want to be for a while but in 5th grade i wanted to shave my legs to because every one else was and my legs were really hairy... maybe ur daughter has very hairy legs compared to the rest of them and she would feel better if she shaved...... if u dont want to start her on a razor u could use nair or VEET but be careful with it because it can burn or is sometimes painful if u have sensitive skin. i think u should let her but just teach her the right way to shave. gl

I didn't till I was 13. Thats too young. It most likely just a phase. She should grow out of it in time. Then when she is 13 you can let her. But thats just way too young. Be strong, and don't give in you are her authority figure and you need to let her know who's boss. Don't take orders from your 10 year old daughter. If you don't think she is ready then don't let her. Also you might want to hide your razors or put them in a hard to reach place in case she wanted to try without your permission. GOOD LUCK!

i started in 4th grade she is mature enough

im sure everyone else is shaving  everyone in fifth grade pretty much is already to that stage.you should let her.

I would let her. What is it going to hurt in the grand scheme of things? I probably started when I was about 10 too.......only I didn't ask. I just snuck around and did it until my Mom found out and then she went ahead and let me, of course, telling me how much I was going to hate that I had started and now wouldn't really be able to stop without having porcupine legs! She'll grow to hate having to shave and you can always tell her that you told her so! lol.

i started this year, im 12, i wanted to start earlier, i never used a shaver, let her use hair removal cream, because the results last quite a while, and it doesn't hurt. hope i helped. :) x
