Hajras tipped for success in Goldsmiths Handicap
Hajras has got a solid chance of shining in the Goldsmiths Handicap at Newmarket in England on Thursday, July 12, 2012. A victory in the class-2 event will earn him a cash prize of £31,125.
The all important event is scheduled to start at 14:25 GMT and a total of 14 runners will feature in it. They will have to display extremely good stamina in order to prevail in the 1 mile 2 furlong race. There has been some rain, which has left the ground
soft in some areas whereas it is good in others.
Looking at the overall statistics of the runners, it seems that the race will be a highly competitive one. The spectators will definitely enjoy the action, but it will be a hard decision for the punters to choose their favourite. They have quite a few options
though and it will be a clever decision to risk money on someone like Hajras, who has been priced 11 to 2 by the bookies.
The young colt does not have a lot of experience and will be under pressure to deliver in this class. However, most of his opponents are in a similar position, which will even things out at the end of the day.
The three-year-old runner has got a terrific record in the sport, even though he has only participated in a handful of races. He has earned a couple of victories out of three outings whereas finished runner up once. This goes onto prove that he is a skilful
challenger, who will cause plenty of problems for his rivals.
Dubai Destination’s son out of Nufoos made his debut in March this year and was impressive right from the start. He was rated as favourite in his very first race and lived up to the expectations of everyone, triumphing by comfortable margin.
He followed that up with another impressive victory in April and was promoted to a class-2 event, where his winning momentum was broken by Expense Claim. However, the Mark Johnston’s trainee did not disappoint his fans, as he managed to take the runner up
position.
Hajras will be ridden by seasoned jockey, Paul Hanagan, who led him to a victory in his debut race.
