  1. hakeem. more complete player.

  2. Hakeem can't win without MJ retiring,

Shaq was unstoppable and all they could do is attacking his weakness - his free-throw and his teammates! If Anfernee Hardaway wasn't such a wannabe (no, he wasn't a ballhog but he wanted to be Jordan and take the last shot all the time), Shaq would have won a ring or 2 in those 2 years while Jordan was gone.  The Magics led usually by double digits in halftime in the Finals against the Rockets, only to loose the lead when Shaq got hacked and Anfernee kept on shooting to prevent Shaq from going to the free-throw line.  At least Shaq made over half of his free-throws at the time, and Anfernee made like 1 in 7 shots...  What a wannabe...

I don't want to say it, but hack-a-shaqqing is CHEAP!

The only player to have stopped Shaq is Kobe Bryant. Kobe ballhogged and would not pass.  He robbed Shaq two rings and two Finals MVPs from Shaq in 2003 and 2004.  Guess what?  Shaq was runner-up to the league MVP in 2005.  Kobeaners think Kobe was taking over because Shaq's old?  Shaq was Finals MVP in 2002 and runner-up MVP in 2005 - he's old?  Kobe was taking over because, in his own words, he's "tired of being a sidekick" (The Last Season).

So, of course, Shaq had the better career.  Look at all the ingenious ways that they had to guard Shaq when Shaq was young.

  3. Hakeem Olajuwon

  4. Hakeem was one of my favorite players of all time. I really think he has a better career then Shaq even though Diesel has more rings.

  5. Olajuwon.  Are  you kidding?  Shaq was lucky he had Kobe to pass him the ball.  Did you see him on Orlando before Kobe arrived?

  6. Hakeem is one of my favorite players of all time.  He had some of the best foot work and post moves for a big man I've seen.  Plus he was a great defender and shot blocker.

Shaq didn't have the skills or technique that Hakeem did, but was probably a more dominant player.  Shaq was just so huge and powerful that he was nearly impossible to stop.  It took an entire team collapsing on him just to slow him down.

I would reluctantly take Shaq over Hakeem.  But you couldn't go wrong with either of those dudes.

  7. shaq he was a beast but now lost his skills. but hakeem 2 nba titles should have a asterisk next to it.y? cuz jordan was retired, and if jordan was still playing they wouldnt won 2 maybe 1 but not 2. but if i had to chose 1 it would be shaq.he won titles with different teams and i could be wrong but i think he went deep to the playoffs with magic. no one could stop shaq, and shaq couldnt be stopped, he dunked on u, he block ur shots, it would be hard to get rebound if hes around.

  8. Well, obviously Shaq, and once you get tired of him, he gets you many solid players including stars in return (in his prime lol)

  9. Most people would say Shaq has had a better career because he has more titles. Personally I'd rather build around Hakeem Olajuwon. He was more talented defensively than Shaq as well as offensively. Plus he had more finess when he played.

Not to mention "The Dream" has two titles of his own..

  10. Well both of them I would go with Shaq, he was unstoppable by anyone but ONE PLAYER, and that was Hakeem.

I bet if Hakeem were playing today he'd probably be like Tim Duncan, 4 rings, 2 MVP's... very similiar I guess.

Yeah lets take Shaq, only one could totally stop him and in this generation where physical defense is getting less and less someone as big and gifted as Shaq would just dominate if he were his 24 year old self again.

  11. Shaq > Hakeem

    MICHAEL JORDAN SUCKS!

  12. Shaq.

Depends on the age.. If it's Shaq's age right now I wouldn't because he's injured. If it were prime, Shaq easily, he was unstoppable.

  13. hakeem olajuwon.

olajuwon totally dominated oneal in their 1994 nba finals duel when both were in their prime.

  14. shaq in his prime

  15. Shaq. The guy was/is so dominant, they had to build hack-a-shaq to stop him. Every team shaq's been on since he came to his prime has won 1 or more championships. When Shaq leaves the team breaks down (Heat, Lakers)
