Halal or Haram?

Ok today I bought the Hebrew National kosher hot dogs believing kosher is halal but then a Muslim friend told me that the hot dogs were haram because unlike Muslims, Jews don't believe in blessing the meat. Does anyone know if that's true?

  1. Islamic Halal and Kosher is a two different things You Have to be certain about a particular food item is Halal and that's include if the meat used is slaughtered as required by Islamic law and 2ndly the other ingredients used are also halal for example if someone buys meat from Halal shop and then prepare a dish and uses other ingredients which are not halal then it will not be permissible for Muslims to eat that food. Various things which in Jewish religion are allowed to eat are not Halal in Islamic law. Plus do they actually slaughter as required by Islamic law? we are not certain so its best to avoid kosher meat and other food items labelled as kosher.
