Haley Anderson occupies Women’s 800m freestyle gold – Swimming news
Haley Anderson of UN-20-CA/USC occupied gold medal of Women’s 800m freestyle on day one of the 2013 Speedo Grand Challenge at Woollett Aquatic Centre on Sunday, May 26.
The 21-year-old Anderson stifled hopes of her opponents in the distant freestyle discipline as she sprinted her way towards the finishing end for gold medal. With her impeccable pace, she enjoyed a comfortable lead over her challengers and secured the title.
She remained in a three body length lead over her challengers and transpired on the finishing end for gold medal with the timing of 8 minutes and 37.47 seconds.
The champion was chased by Andie M Taylor of UN-12-PC, who was 3.48 seconds slower and surfaced on the wall for second position with the timing of 8 minutes and 40.95 seconds.
The second position holder was chased by Isabella Rongione of FISH-PV, who stayed almost four seconds slower and tapped the wall for third position with the timing of 8 minutes and 44.20 seconds.
The third best finisher was followed by Lauren E Baker of UN-08-CA, who was 4.50 seconds apart an settled on the finishing end for fourth position with the timing of 8 minutes and 48.70 seconds.
Katie Bachrouche of Trojan-CA, who was considerably slower from her former finisher and posted an effort of 8 minutes and 57.22 seconds, obtained fifth fastest spot of the race.
Megan H Purdy of BCH Heatwave-CA, who was almost 0.80 seconds apart and clocked a time of 8 minutes and 58.07 seconds, obtained sixth position of the race.

Last spot of the race was obtained by Jessie Arnold of SMAC-VA, who was considerably slower and finished her race in eighth place with the timing of 9 minutes and 12.19 seconds.
In addition, Anderson expressed happiness over undisputed efforts in the 800m freestyle discipline while the position holders collected awards and accolades at the victory ceremony of the tournament after the race.
