warner brothers (no, they do not deserve capitalization) is such a snake asss business. How can they delay Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince movie NINE freakin months, its complete B.S, the greedy b******s are just trying to make more money and its ridiculous

basically I just wanted to come on here and rant my opinion, but I also have a question.

Do you think they were afraid Twilight was going to give it some competition?

  1. I AM SO MAD!

I CAN'T BELIEVE warner bros (you're right- they don't deserve capitalization) WOULD DO THIS! Even though they already had a majorly successful film {Dark Knight} that made record-breaking riches, that isn't good enough for them! Even though they are so filthy rich that they won't be able to spend all their money in this lifetime, it's not good enough! They have to delay HBP for almost a year, completely ignoring the Fan-base, so they can make even more MONEY! They are going to s***w over all the loyal Harry Potter fans who have waited for so long just so they can make even more money!

And to answer your question: maybe :/ Although I can't see how there would be any real comparison: Twilight has nothing on Harry POtter

  2. ******* load of **** isnt it!!

They are gonna have a lotttt of angry hp fans at their door!!

  3. It's not because of Twilight. Trust me, if you were going to see the Harry Potter movie, you wouldn't go to Twilight and choose to skip Harry Potter.

The reason for the delay is because of the HUGE success that "Dark Knight" has been getting. They believe that putting it off until the summer is going to bring in more money.

  4. I am mad they delayed it this long too.

I bet you are right, because the majority of Twilight fans are also Harry Potter fans.

I think this movie is going to be the best one yet though, or at least the scariest.

At any rate,I will most likely see both(though the Twilight movie will be one of the worst movies, i can just feel it)

  5. i bet you 25 bucks that is is becuase of twilight

me and my friends have all organinsed to go see twilght together but not harry potter becuase its too close to twilight and our perants wont let us go to 2 moives in a row and more poeple are looking forward to twilight than what they were harry potter     so i would say yes they are porbaby putting it off so that more people want to go see it if it more anticpiated

  6. No I don't think so.  I mean Twilight is SOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD!  But nothing can beat Harry Potter!  Also I read on a REAL harry potter site (not fan made) and they said that  reason that they are delaying the movie is  The Writer's Strike, they want to make sure that it is good and would appeal to every audience member.

I CAN'T WAIT TILL TWILIGHT COMES OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And i am/was so freaking mad when i found out about the delay!

But one good thing I am pretty sure the 6th movie and the Part 1 of the 7th are going to be LESS then a year wait!

  7. wait, THEY DELAYED THE MOVIE!?!? crazy people!!!!!!!!!! that sounds like it could be correct, that they thought that they would get too much comptetion from twilight...

  8. maybe.... but i completely agree with ur opinion...they r completely useless.

  9. No, it's not because of Twilight. Twilight can't hold a candle to Harry Potter-- I mean Harry Potter has an entire theme park, 400 million copies in print, seven books, and (going to be) eight movies. Twilight has 4 books, only a few million copies in print, and at the moment, one movie. Harry Potter is worldwide and has a universal appeal (everyone knows what Harry Potter is); basically the only people who like Twilight are tweens and teen girls. Harry Potter has always been, and will always be, bigger than Twilight. Harry Potter pwns.

I think the reason they've moved it is because of The Dark Knight. TDK has had SO much success. Perhaps they feel that Harry Potter won't make as much, or look as good, if it comes out so close to The Dark Knight. Or maybe they think they'll make more money during the summer, due to The Dark Knight's successful and money-making summer release.

Either way, I'm fricking pissed. THEY RESCHEDULED THE RELEASE DATE?! ACK! Curse their oily hides! But I don't blame The Dark Knight (which is basically the best movie ever made, just by the way. Lol. I love it-- hence the avatar and name).

  10. THEY WANT MORE MONEY!!!!!!!

Which is stupid because no matter WHEN they release HP, it would make HEAPS of money anyway!!!!!!!!!! Seriously there are millions of HP fans everywhere!!! This is just so stupid.

    EVERYONE, SIGN PETITIONS/HOLD PROTEST MARCHES/ETC!!!

This is seriously unfair!! :( :(

I swear, if I could Avada Kedavra Warner Bros, I would :(

  11. Yeah, the guy above me is right. It's not because of Twilight. Harry Potter is INCREDIBLY bigger then twilight.

It's because of the The Dark Knight. Since it's been getting so much success, Warner Bros. doesn't want anything getting in the way of that, so they're pushing Harry Potter back for a summer 2009 release. I also remember reading somewhere that a guy from Warner Bros. said that HP has more success with summer releases, so that's why they're doing it too.

  12. Ok, so when I first read about the long delay I was as bummed and upset as any die-hard fan.  However, when you think about it, here's the deal: the Harry Potter movies have been extremely well done, and therefore expensive.  They've been spending money to make money, and it stands to reason that they want to collect as large a return as possible (welcome to capitalism, in case you haven't been introduced).  So, there's a big ol' team of math nerds looking at past, present, and projected future trends in consumer spending on movie theater tickets, and their results are the reason for our wait.  Is it annoying?  Oh yeah.  Does it make sense?  Unfortunately, yeah.  The plus side is that the rest of the film adaptations will come closer together after this long wait.  Personally, I'm going to take advantage of the extra time to re-read the books.  Remember, that's where it all started, and that's where the magic really resides.  The Harry Potter movies are great in the same way the Lord of the Rings trilogy movies were great: they beautifully bring to life a story that we already know and love.  So until we get the next movie, invest some more time in the true work of art: the printed version of the Harry Potter legend.

  13. I don't think that they would have been afraid of releasing it due to Twilight. Honestly, I think Harry Potter has a much bigger following and would have no competition(I mean...There's going to be a Harry Potter theme park...I doubt twilight has that kind of fanbase). As upset as I am about the delay, I think it's better especially since the following movies will be released in 2010 and 2011, so I don't mind this gap. Plus it's scheduled to come out right before my bday, so I'll be guaranteed at least one good present! :) haha

  14. haha yeah thats probably its cus with the twilight movie,my friends and i reserved december 12th for it  lol :]

  15. isn't it 11 months? July 17th 2009?

I am sooo incredibly pissed off at warner brothers. when i read it had been delayed on mugglenet i thought it was some kind of sick joke. ugh. i wouldn't be so angry if they wouldn't have told us it was coming out in november, set release dates...etc. But COME ON!

(I just found out about this now so I'm kin of at a loss for words. :P )

  16. no, they were just whiny about money. Fact of the matter is, nobody cares when it comes out, it'll make just as many good-smelling ten-dollar bills if it comes out Christmas as it would if it came out 9:00pm on Halloween.

I saw something that said that some people who would be key to making a decision like this were not even informed that it was being made before it got leaked to the press. So now they're probably rethinking it. Since the entire world was anticipating a November release, they'll probably just stick with November.
