If I only fill my tank to half full, will the lessening of the weight net any savings in MPG? If yes, then how much?

  1. very little, you would be better off emptying out the trunck of the stuff you don't need in there

  2. Zero. Nada. Depending on your fuel capacity, the full tank of fuel in your car weighs somewhere between 150-200 pounds. So you can see that even if your tank was almost empty, carrying one person besides yourself will offset that weight. In fact, driving your fat-butt mother in law to her bingo game will kill any microscopic mileage gain if there was one, which there won't be. It's always funny to me how people will carry around hundreds of pounds of junk in their car, but worry about 75 pounds of fuel.

  3. Very little, nothing worth noting. Just fill it up you penny pincher!

  4. not enough to make it worth the extra stops.
