Half chaps?

Question

For schooling purposes, do you prefer brown or black half chaps and paddock boots? I need new ones and I've always had black, but the brown ones are on sale. Obviously it really doesnt matter that much, I just dont want to be the only one w/ brown.

(Im doing equitation if that makes a difference)

i personally onl have the brown ones because my paddock boots are black

if they were brown i would have brown half chaps as well

i like matching, same with bridle and saddle it HAS to match lol i'm ocd about that hehe

and plus you don't wear half chaps for shows you wear tall boots unless your under 12, or was it 13? and if you are that would make you a yahoo! rule breaker

anyways heh ya brown will be fine it will asve you a couple bucks but you should really invest in some tall boots for showing and things like that

i love my black ariat cobalt boots and their all around half chaps. I have had the half chaps for 4 years and they still clean up really well. They are leather on the outside and look really nice.

Brown or black doesn't really matter. I prefer black but i think it is just a preferance thing. I reccomend ariat though for quality. Their stuff will last you a long time.

It should't matter at all as long as your boots and your chaps are the same colour.  When you go to shows most people ride with black boots/chaps, no one is going to take off marks because your waring brown.

I see more people with brown now. I am finding that most people that buy black what tthem to look like tall boots for schooling shows. since your just schooling in them you will not look out of place at all in brown

I don't think it really matters either way, but I would try to match the color of the chaps to the boots. black boots with brown chaps would look kind of funky.

I have both - the brown are more popular at my barn, but the black match better. However, the black also show dirt and dust more

i kind of find them weird looking but if it's for schooling go for it.

i just had a thought.

if you like black better you could try black shoe polish,,,,,but i've never tried that.
