  1. Is there a tack store in your town where you can go try a few on? That would probably help you out

  2. Go for Dublin Half Chaps.

MEASURE yourself From the THICKEST part of your calf around your leg. (WRITE IT DOWN!) Measure from your heel to about the middle of your knee maybe slightly below. CALL DOVER FOR HALF CHAP SIZING. You don't have to buy from there, just get a quote!!

  3. im am also 5'8 and where a medum i think that what you would be. unless you have very slinny legs.

I have ariat half chams. ive had them for 4 yeahs and ride in them almost evey day. i have found the fit better than any other brands cuz the have more alastic in them. my have no wear spots other than being white form everyone sweet on them more.

  4. For sizing, go here: http://www.equestriancollections.com/ite...

    (Click on Sizing Chart).

However, I LOVE my Ariat Close Contact chaps. They fit like a dream and help me ride. They have held up to nearly 3 years of abuse and show no sign of wearing out.

Here is the Ariat half chaps sizing chart:

  5. Thats really tough to say, i thought i needed a large(medium weight, 5'5) and i ended up needing a xlarge, i have really muscular calves and needed a bigger size

overal rule of thumb, if your a average weight probably a medium unless you have giant calves

    good luck

get the ones that are sued, and have the accordian style backing on them, also MAKE SURE ZIPPER not velcro

    good luck

  6. I would say medium, but i'm not sure so you could go to a tack store and ask if you can try them on. Now my half chaps are by ovation and they are awesome!!

  7. measure your leg from the floor up to underneath your knee. then measure the widest part of you calf. they should have a sizing chart somewhere but go to a tack shops have have yourself measured.

  8. My Dublin have held up amazingly! I would get a medium size and either get Dublin or Ariat Half Chaps!

    Never heard of Mountain Horse!

Good Luck you will love em!!

  9. I had exactly the same problem - sizing and brand.

It turned out the largest size they had was medium - adults and my old chaps were childs x large so i got adults small thinking they would be just right - they didnt fit at all.

I sent them back and got medium and they fitted but didnt look right so i gave up as that was the largest size they did.

I think large would fit you as I am 5'7 and average.

I got mine from robinsons and their sizing guides are useless and they dont sell large.
