Half dollar 1898?

Question

Could someone tell me how much it is worth? it has a chunk missing from the side of the coin lol, no mint mark. i know these coins are rare but never seen one in this condition. is worth anything?

The 1898 1/2 dollar is not a rare or scarce coin except in high mint state grades. The mint mark if any is on the eagle side near the bottom above the D in dollar if it has one. The scarce one has an O mint mark. With the damage you noted it is worth the silver value only. It has .36169 oz of pure silver. The coin had a mintage of 2,956,000 so that makes it common, dealers pay about 7 to 8 times face value. Since some of the coin is missing they will weigh it. Hope this answers your question.
