Half life 2 crashes while trying to Save game?

The game crashes if I try to save it, also crashes at the start of the game when you stack up the boxes jump out the window, then u have to go through a door as soon as i open the door it says loading and then the game closes and says hl2.exe has stopped working

Im using vista ultimate 32bit

make sure you have the most up to date drivers for your video card, also you can have steam check the integrity of your game files, checkout steampowered.com on how t do this. if all else fails tryin uninstalling the game and re-downloading it. this way you will know that half-life 2 will be up to date.
