Bulgarian striker Dimitar Berbatov found the back of the net in the 2nd minute of the match, in what was Manchester United’s first attack of the game. After midfielder Anderson put the pressure on goal keeper Paul Robinson, who was caught in the
challenge, Nani found Wayne Rooney in the box who flicked the ball towards Berbatov with the striker making no mistake.
Manchester United’s early lead gave United the much needed composure and confidence. They looked dangerous every time they had possession and with Rooney and Berbatov both having the hunger for goals in order to prove something to the critics, it was the
Bulgarian who ended his 10 match goal drought.
United scored the second goal in the 23rd minute, owing to some beautiful play by the frontline. Park and Rooney played a beautiful one two with each other and Park then managed a simple finish over Robinson’s head for his 4th goal of the season.
United were not done yet as Berbatov doubled up his strike three minutes later. Defender Chimbonda gifted a disastrous back pass to Berbatov, who had ample time to get his 9th premier league goal.
With a three goal margin, United seem to be cruising towards their first pole position in the premier league. Arsenal took the spot from the Red Devils by virtue of their 6 goal thriller at Villa park but their happiness would be short-lived as United have
piled a comfortable lead over the visitors. Blackburn has been seen all over the place and cannot seem to predict the off-the-ball movement of the Red Devils players. J.S.Park and Nani have been creating all sorts of trouble for the Rovers and Sam Allardyce
was forced to make an early substitution for Gouton. United dominated possession in the mid-half of the game, having kept the ball 75% of the time.
