Half time report: Wolverhampton Wanderers Vs Chelsea
Scoreline 1-0
Premier league Champions Chelsea travelled to Wolverhampton, in an attempt to put their recent worries to bed.
Carlo Ancelotti was seen munching on his chewing gum as he took his seat in the dugout. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 had a flexible 4-3-3 formation.
It was a disappointing first half for the Premier league Champions (to say the least) when they conceded an early goal.
It came from a Corner from Hunt, which flew into the box. It evaded everyone and looked like it was heading in anyway, but Fletcher applied the finishing touch and the home side were ahead. What a start to the match it was for the home side as the Champions
couldn’t even defend a simple corner. The goal perhaps knocked some sense into the visitors as Terry looked to do something from the back. The pass had too much pace on it and flew harmlessly wide of the goal.
On the 29th minute, Goalkeeper Hennessey managed a brilliant save as he flicked Kalou's shot away with his feet from five yards out. It almost looked like an equaliser, had it not been for the fine goalkeeping. By the 32nd minute, Chelsea
had four shots on goal compared to two from the home side. Malouda had the ball deep inside home territory, but Ronald Zubar needed a bit of a treatment after his collision with Drogba.
Chelsea looked more confident in the dying moments of the half, as Malouda's cross just evaded Kalou at the back post. It was a fine cross, but had no takers. At the half-time whistle, Chelsea enjoyed the pressure, but they trailed to that early Fletcher
goal, or a Bosingwa OG whichever way you want to see it. The visiting side's miserable run of luck continued, but there was time to change matters in the second period.
Wolves will move above Wigan into the second bottom spot in the table if the results stay the same, while Chelsea will slip nine points behind leaders Manchester United having played a game more.
