  1. considering it under cycling that a big give away lbs will give you better advice as for halfords even though they do have  some decent bikes there customer service skill are lacking. i hope this answer is some help to you :-)

  2. LBS !

  3. Car & Bike shop or irritable bowel syndrome... hmmm...

  4. Halfords are fine if you suddenly need a basic part such as an inner tube or a bottle cage on a Sunday or at 7 O'clock in the evening.

Your LBS is definitely the way to go. Most of them are friendly, helpful and are willing to get that speciality piece that Halfords couldn't or wouldn't bother about.

I tend to ride fixed gear and the only specialist part that the big H can supply is a cheap 1/8th chain.

  5. Ginger or Maryanne?

    LBS has my vote. ..

  6. Local bike shop ( lbs ) definitely

    Halford are cr@p !

Just do your research first as some lbs can be a little over priced as some of there customers are naive. But they are often more than willing to haggle. good luck

To the people who dont know what LBS means then you should not be answering questions in this section ! ! !

  7. bikes vs bowels?

  8. Perhaps you may have been better served by saying local bike shop than lbs.

To answer your question a local bike shop is infinitely better. For a start when you ride down the road on your Carrera or Apollo from Halfords everyone will know that is where you got it from, and serious cyclists will shun you as unworthy. Second and more importantly is the level of service from a bike shop. They are much better than Halfords and the staff tend to stay there more than a few months. What you think you are saving at Halfords is probably a false economy, go local for a decent bike and service.

  9. Go to Evans Cycles.

  10. halfords i guess as i havent heard of lbs...
