Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder, Halil Altintop, has parted ways with the Bundesliga outfit, making a move to Turkey instead. The decision came during the late hours on Thursday after the player was reported to have been in constant contact with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Trabzonspor-c40759
officials. The transfer amount and the contract duration, though, remain undisclosed.
Halil, the twin brother of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Eskisehirspor-c39020, but took a sudden U-turn to everyone’s surprise. The 28-year-old agreed about Eskisehirspor’s interest but preferred to join Trabzonspor
as they came up with a better offer. The ES-ES officials were disappointed at the player’s decision and the frustration was quite evident on their faces.
Altintop, on the other hand, was pleased to have signed for the 2010/11 league runner-ups. The player mentioned that it was a difficult decision to leave the Bundesliga as the atmosphere in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Turkey-c3026.
He considered himself unlucky to have finished in the relegation zone and also pointed out to what Frankfurt need to do to get back amongst the big boys.
The Eagles finished 2010/11 campaign 17th in the league table and were relegated alongside FC St. Pauli. The two clubs will now play in the 2. Bundesliga the next season in pursuit of a place in the German top flight for the 2012/13 campaign.
Altintop’s stay at the Commerzbank-Arena lasted for one year, where he was unable to save his team from relegation before parting ways with the club.
Trabzonspor officials were delighted to have tied knots with the Turkey international and were confident about the player’s success in his own country. Club manager, Taner Yilmaz, was excited with the midfielder’s arrival which would offer him enough midfield
and striking options, as the player could easily adapt to any of these roles at the club.
Halil joined the Eagles in 2010 from Schalke 04 and managed 32 league appearances, bagging three goals during the process. The player also has 37 international caps to his credit to go along with his eight goals to date.
