Hall of Fame Voting. It's that time of the year again when I post my list of players who I believe should be.

I have to agree with your picks including Blyleven,  but if we believe Blyleven should be there than Tommy John has to be there with him.  His accomplishments were equal to Blyleven and he has never had the recognition he deserves.  Blyleven 22 seasons, 287 wins, 3.31 ERA, and (1) 20 win season.  John 26 seasons, 288 wins, 3.34 ERA, and (3) 20 win seasons.

Bert Blylevin is the one guy who's numbers should have put him in on the first ballot, i get to wondering if he really pissed off some voters. I did some research months ago and he has better numbers than 30% of sp that are allready in the hall. Maybe because he doesn't have 300 wins, but check out his cg's its like 100+ great era, k's are up there too. I dont understand why he and the others you have listed aren't in there yet, its down right criminal.

Personally, I think the steriods era is going to do wonders for many of these players. Who's skills will be looked at in a different light. Clean numbers will be put on a pedastol by the baseball writers and veterans committee. I believe current pitchers will also benefit. I would think about adding Tommy John (if he's still eligible) and Tim Raines.

jxhzut6156, Tell you foolish comments to all those great hall of famers who had to wait all those years before they finally got in.  I think this list is valid.  Everyone of them belongs in the hall of fame.  Sounds like you're the silly one!  Mick has probably forgotten more about baseball then you'll ever know.

Ref:  Richie Ashburn and all the greats who finally made via the Veterans Committee.

I agree with most of your choices especially Blyleven. When he reitred he was 3rd on the all-time strikeout list, I think he's 5th or 6th now. His complete games are off the charts and the number of games he lost by one run is around 100.

But I have to give the nod to McGwire. Only because he has never failed a drug test. Did he do it, probably. But people are supposed to be 'innocent until proven guilty' and I haven't seen or heard any evidence to say he did do illegal or banned substances.

PETE ROSE!!!!!  With what players get away with today, and still get in the Hall, it is such a shame that Pet cannot!

Mark McGwire.  All he did "wrong" was not answer a question, and with good reason.  The ones who lied and said they never did steroids had nothing happen to them.

Alan Trammell doesn't belong I think-Batted .285,not bad for a SS but Hall material?4 Gold Gloves,not bad but Hall material?Great combo with Lou but I don't think either have the qualifications to get in.Alan isn't on the lines of guys like Cal,Luis Aparicio and Ernie at the 6 position.When you mention the SS position where does Alan fall?Top 30 maybe but not Hall material IMO.

Its the Hall of Fame..Not the Hall of Very Good.

If you let Alan in do you also let Omar Vizquel in?

Your list is silly!

Only two players on the list qualify for HOF.

Bert Blyleven and Ron Santo.

Most of the others had maybe one, or at best two, great seasons or, more likely, played in a park that inflated their lifetime stats or both.

I like your list; I think Rice gets in this year.  I love the Mattingly campaign but I just don't see it happening, there is just not enough support.  Dawson would be great, MVP from a last place team says something!  Blyleven is a travesty that it has taken this long as well.  Trammell and Whitaker would be great to see in the hall as well, I would like to see that great tandem go in together!  Hodges I can still not understand why he would even still be on the list of players that are not in...it is like not having Gwynn in the Hall, he was the offense for the Dodgers for a long time!  I think that Parker has too many people looking at his non peak years at the end instead of the devastating player that he was from the mid 70's to mid 80's....many people remember the blob that could hardly move on the A's but even then he could still swing that stick!  I like Dewey as well, I would not be against him ever getting into the Hall but again he does not seem to have the support out there to get near the number he needs to get in.

Not on the Ballot but I would still like to see Maris hit the Hall, multiple MVP's good fielder and all around team player...I think that 1961 was too much for him to handle though, he was never the same after it.

I don't see any clear admits. Blyleven is the only one who probably could make it, based on being very good (but not great) for a really long time. But how many of the others did you look at when they were playing and said, "He's a Hall of Famer"? Rice's career unraveled at the end, Mattingly had injury problems, Hodges needed to manage a while longer, etc.
