Given his current chase for .400, do you think he belongs in the HOF regardless?

There's a discussion topic here about that:

But what do you think?

  1. Right now he has 404 HR, 1349 RBI, .407 OBP, and a lifetime avg of .310. i say he is in

  2. Regardless of whether or not he hits .400 this season (and I'm leaning toward not), he is a first ballot HOFer!

  3. Tom Verducci in SI was talking about this exact thing two years ago, and he's only accelerated his pace.

With or without 0.400 he's probably done enough to get in.  He's been a model of consistency and had some serious production in average/RBI/slugging/OBP.

I say yes, and thanks for the link.

  4. Chipper deserves the hall regardless. Hes a great player all around. Hes very consistent and was part of a Braves Team that went to the playoffs 12 straight times. The Braves teams hes played with over the years has many future hall of famers on it.

  5. nope not yet.  inflated roids numbers have raised the bar. plus a few off the field issues early in his career.
