Hall of Fame member Karrie Webb to play in Evian Masters
Karrie Webb has announced her availability for the upcoming Evian Masters 2012.
Karrie Webb, the Australian sensation, is a well known name on the professional golf circuit. She already has a great 2012 year and many fans are hopeful for her top notch performance at the upcoming Evian Masters 2012.
Experts, however, have a different opinion. They base their prediction on her current 2012 performance and the stats do not look very promising for Webb.
Karrie Webb had two wins in 2011, an impressive year by any standards. Her first win was a one-stroke victory in HSBC Women's Champions. She was up against Japan’s Chie Arimura.
Her second win was also a one-stroke victory at RR Donnelley LPGA Founders Cup. She was playing against Brittany Lincicome, Paula Creamer, both from America.
With this excellent result, Webb was poised for an even brighter 2012. So far, the goal eludes her. She has competed in 12 LPGA events. Her best was a fourth position in Mobile Bay LPGA Classic.
Still, she has played many golf tournaments this year and gained valuable experience that will prove to be her greatest asset in the upcoming Evian Masters.
With the revision of the status of Evian Masters as the fifth major event on LPGA 2013 calendar, the importance of the event has increased. Karrie Webb will do her best to gain one of the top positions in this event to better her record.
Webb is likely face tough resistance on her way up the leaderboard. Almost all the top players from around the world are attending the event.
This should not be a problem for Webb as she has played against many of them during previous tournaments. She is well aware of the competition and could beat the opposition with her skills.
Karrie Webb has another weapon up her sleeves for this event. She went pro in 1994. This long period has given her considerable exposure to international golf.
She could easily deal with the pressure and concentrate on the game. Experts say that Webb’s performance in the opening rounds will determine her standing in the tournament.
