  1. I think every 2-4 years because interest will wain when the vic's win year in year out

  2. In an age where AFL players are expected to stay clean and sober for the entire period of contract, not just during the season, I don't think it would be unreasonable to schedule a special game just after the GF.

Spirits are high just after the finals and the injury concerns are less. It was a real shame to see players injured at this stage of the season during last weekend's interstate clash.

  3. Yeah ditch the NAB cup (noone watches it anyhow) and create something similar to State of Origin at the end of the season so players and coaches dont hold back due to injury scare..

  4. i reckon it would be kinda stupid having the HOF every year. it got annoying after awile becoz they kept putting ads on about it. i mean, was it enough that we heard it 10 zillion times last year coming up to the GF? but yea, i think it should happen every 5 years. oh yea, btw, i watch the NAB cup and i like it.

  5. Why don't you all admit you can't compete with NRL for putting on S of O matches?

They would be so far behind & inferior to a Blues -Vs- Maroons match you would cry.

  6. nayto, mate the both ideas would be good but it won't happen, the players are on their break after the season, they wouldn't play, no way known.

The best chance we have is a h o f type game every 2nd year, I'd like to See it every year, the state of origin finished up, i don't know why, they had crowds of 90,000 at the 'g' when the big V played S.A.  Mustn't be enough $$$$$$$ in it for the AFL.

A carnival could replace pre season even, just a thought, with players not picked playing curtain raises.

EDIT TO GURG-           Ease up there Raymond, I had that other one about the Hills hoist too remember and we won't mention the hot dog on a stick.

  7. Yes.

I'll say yes to any match. Me & me sister go each week just to perv on the blokes. We know nothing about the game & the rules are too complicated for us to learn - but who cares.

We just yell abuse & carry on like everyone else does. Most of trhe time we don't knw what we're yelling about.

  8. i think it would be good, it would be a good experience for gamers and game companies

  9. Yeah, I'll be all for another Hall of Fame match - when they hold the next one in another 150 years!

  10. state of origin every 2 or 4 years in a round robin knock out comp,it would make players Hungary for a Guernsey and no be over cooked with the public.

note: to gutsache -the ARL never had state of origin before they copied the Aussie rules boys the only difference is our game went national while your sport stayed stuck in 2 states.

  11. I would like to see it played every year or two.  Hold it mid season so it gives the other players a break.  I think it's a stupid proposal to hold it after the Grand final.  Get rid of the Nab Cup and replace it with something like the H.O.F mid season.

  12. No, it's a waste of time.

You will also have the issue of who plays in a State of Origin format.  Should it be SA or WA?  Can it be a tri state, like Rugby's tri nations?

Forky, AFL isn't national.  There's still no team from Tasmania, NT or ACT.  And there won't be either, unless Melbourne sides move.

  13. As a RL fan I apologise for gutsache's comments. Anything would be better then seeing The Blues get another pasting! Bloody Maroons!

  14. Geez Romper's come out with his first good idea since that one about slicing a loaf of bread with a knife.

Why not replace that pre-season bullshite with State of Origin.  Or hold it while the semi finals and final of the NAB cup are on so there's something worth watching on tele?

  15. It would be great to see it return in the format of the four teams; the Vics, the Allies, SA and WA.

However, I do understand the coaches concerns about their players being fit for home and away games.

  16. Every 2 to 3 years would be good. I would rather see Vics/WA/SA/All Stars tha dream team though. The coachs need to stop sooking and worrying about their players gtting injured in these matches though. Especially Leigh Matthews

  17. I completely agree with the proposal for a match every 4 years, just because it makes it so much more of a novelty each time. It's like World Cups for other sports. If we had those every year, they wouldn't be quite as good.
