Halla San set to outpace his rivals in Weatherbys Bloodstock Insurance Handicap at Nottingham
Halla San is being considered as the strongest candidate in the Weatherbys Bloodstock Insurance Handicap, taking place at Nottingham on Saturday, May 12th.
He was runner-up in his last appearance at Ripon, where the ground was quite soft. The 10-year-old is going to face similar conditions at Nottingham, thus he is expected to do an equally good job today.
Richard Fahey’s trainee is going to face four speedy runners including Korngold, General Ting, Local Hero and Mattoral. The 1m6f15y event is scheduled to begin at 15:15 GMT. The ultimate champion will be given a cash prize worth £5,175.
Halla San has been performing consistently since the start of this season. After a couple of fine efforts at Kempton, the veteran continued his good work when ran at Ripon at the end of last month.
The Betfred "The Bonus King" Handicap saw missing the top place only by a few lengths. Under Lee Topliss, the bay gelding is expected to build on his recent runner-up place and demonstrate a winning show today. However, he requires a slice of luck to dominate
the proceedings.
Korngold is coming into this competition after a couple of dismal performance. So, it is going to be a big task for him. Let’s see how he manages things in order to regain his momentum.
General Ting is also out of form these days. At the start of this month, the 7-year-old performed poorly in the attheraces.com Exclusive William Buick Blog Handicap at Doncaster.
Since he is producing good results these days, it might be a bit dangerous to pin up too many hopes on him. Mattoral’s performance was below par last time out. On May 06, the audience at Salisbury saw him finishing fourth in the Betfred "City Bowl" Handicap.
Halla San is currently sitting on top of the betting card with some good reason. Most of his participants are out of form these days and thus, it is an ideal chance for Halla San to pocket the winning cheque. Let’s see how he keeps his head high today. We
wish the best of luck to everyone.
