Even after revealing all the new features set to be implemented in Halo 4, 343 were far from finished as it seems the studio are h**l-bent on ensuring they leave their own print on the game.
Spartan Ops, the ability to Sprint and the reasons behind the endless war between the Reds and the Blues have all been explained in the first part of this www.dbuz.com special on Halo 4, which readers can find by clicking here.
However, there are a number of features that were not mentioned, one of which is the Forerunner Vision. The ability is another armour upgrade and seems to be the anti-camping solution for gamers as it allows players to see through walls.
Elites seem to be scrapped from the multiplayer component of the game as it was confirmed by a statement which read, “Competitive multiplayer focuses on the Spartan IVs. Elites will not be playable.”
Fire Fight also seems to be making a return with Halo 4, after its success on an earlier title, Halo 3: ODST, as is another VIP inspired multiplayer mode known as Regicide. The mode is described as setting “the leading scorer as the king. Every opponent that the king kills raises his bounty; other players have to kill the king to claim the reward.”
A major game changer will be the removal of the delay between a player’s death in the game and his respawn. Players will be able to jump right back into the action Call of Duty style with a simple press of the ‘X’ button.
Also, weapons will not spawn at one particular point as was the case in the past but rather will be dropped in at random locations. The aim seems to be to shift attention from one side of the map to the other and keep things on the move at all times.
343 seem to be laying an emphasis on co-op gameplay and making the multiplayer action more dynamic and fast paced. Whether or not the move will add to the Halo experience or take away from it is something that only time will tell, yet for the time being Halo 4 does sound like a game every first-person shooter fan should keep an eye on.
