343 are busy changing things up with the usual Halo gameplay and seem to be placing a much greater emphasis on Co-op.
Many thought they had seen the last of Master Chief and the Halo series after Halo Reach, which remains Bungie’s final entry into the series, yet before the dust even had time to settle, Microsoft hired 343 to bring the series back to life.
Many were worried that the original feel of the game, which Bungie were so good at delivering every single time, would be lost with the change in developers. Although it is too early to comment on that it seems that 343 is not worried about changing a few things.
One of which is Spartan Points; which according to NeoGAF will replace the old currency system in the Halo games and will be used to upgrade one’s character and unlock additional content.
One such piece of content is the Halo equivalent of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3’s Spec Ops. Titled Spartan Ops, it is described as being very similar to “Spec Ops from Modern Warfare but with a storyline. They will span out over several month, encouraging players to return to the game.”
Whether or not that will be in the form of paid DLC or otherwise remains unanswered for the time being and will be a piece of information that many fans will be keeping a keen ear out for.
Next up, the reason between the age old battle between the Reds and the Blues will be answered, as if anyone was ever looking for an answer in the first place. But if the reader has, then in that case it turns out the multiplayer action is actually a virtual reality training exercise for Spartans.
Players will also be able to sprint in the game, yet not by default. Oddly enough, 343 are categorising the ability to run at full speed as an armour upgrade and players will have to equip it in one of two armour upgrade slots if they wish to use it.
