Halo Combat Evolved PC problem...?

Whenever i start my Halo combat evolved for pc.. it freezes at the intro, i press play and then all those mini clips at the beginning, at some point of those clips the whole thing freezes and i have to restart my comp. please help!!

try lowering the settings on it using the autorun menu that pops up when you insert the disc. if that doesnt work then either the disc is damaged (its relatively easy to tell just look at the bottom of the disc and if its scratched than it is damaged) or your pc doesnt match the system requirements for the game.
