Ham radio repeater?

Question

how do you use one i was trying to on 2 meters. be as simple as possible i am confused on the tome part and how do i tell if i have found one pls help

Some repeaters don't use sub-tone access , some do.

If a repeater requires a sub tone for access it may be  a club owned repeater.

You have to ask the repeater owner for the tone frequency for access , but you may have to be a club member before you can access that repeater.
